Concrete Coating for Stairs

A concrete coating will add an extra layer over that smooth concrete. This new layer has an orange peel texture made with aliphatic urethane which, while smooth, still grips surfaces like shoes and car tires. The top coat is just one of a number of layers that will be applied to your stairs to improve their strength, health, and safety.
Repair Existing Damage
As well as making the stairs non-slip and textured, Penntek’s Industrial Coatings installed by CAP Concrete Coatings will repair any existing damage. Before we apply materials we first sand down the existing flooring and add a compound to fill any holes or cracks.
We then sand down the areas where we added more compound so the whole floor has an even finish. This finish is even, but it is not perfectly smooth. This will help the epoxy primer adhere to the stairs better.
Change Color or Texture
Between the layer of epoxy primer and aliphatic urethane topcoat is a layer or “sand” or Polytek Evolution Chips in the desired color. This gives the floor its orange peel texture as well as the color. We offer a wide range of colors from the different sand mixes offered by Polytek, metallic surfaces, and even custom color options. Whatever look you are hoping for your stairs, we can custom mix it for you to make sure it’s perfect.
